Dr. Evangelos G. TsimopoulosPostdoctoral Researcher
Evangelos holds a PhD from the Department of Chemical Engineering in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He also holds an MSc in Applied Economics and Finance from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece, an MSc in Flow Assurance for Oil and Gas Production from Cranfield University, United Kingdom, and a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece. His research interests lie in the intersection of multiple fields including optimization, game theory and energy systems. More particularly, his is interested in the fields of strategic management of power generation portfolios, integration of renewable energy systems and energy storage systems in electricity markets, coupling of electricity and gas sector, power to gas storage systems, uncertainty and risk management, and optimization in operational planning problems.
Georgios holds a PhD from the department of Chemical Engineering in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He also holds an MSc in Electrical Power Engineering (2017) from the Rheinisch-Westfalische Technische Hochschule Aachen, Germany and a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2013) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. His research interests are related with the fields of mathematical optimisation, production planning/scheduling and operational research. More particularly, he focuses on the development of cutting-edge mathematical programming models and solution algorithms that can successfully tackle real-life large-scale optimization problems, mainly for optimal production scheduling of industrial facilities and optimal planning and operation of pharmaceutical supply chains.
